Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics (S.T.E.A.M.) Program

  • Ages: 3rd – 12th grade
  • Timeframe: 6 pm – 8 pm Mondays Year Round
  • Pre-registration is required
  • Cost: FREE
  • Light snack provided

The primary focus of the S.T.E.A.M. program is the introduction and exploration of (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts & Mathematics) projects. This past year, we teamed up with two organizations: a well-known S.T.E.M. organization from Columbus, “SIMPLR”, and the Columbus E-STEM Chapter (both with national engineering society affiliation) affording the youth exciting challenges such as programming, robotics and participation in Engineering competitions and symposiums.

For the academic year 2016-17, the students won First Place at the Columbus Winter Research Symposium and won the 2017 Columbus STEAMship – SIMPLR STEAM League competition. Beginning in academic year 2017-18, we implemented our own club (Delaware S.T.E.A.M. Club) for 3rd-12th grade students. The students have already elected officers to their Executive Board and are currently learning valuable leadership and entrepreneurial life skills.

Saturday, 12/09/17 – Our hard-working students (Delaware SWCI S.T.E.A.M. Club) attended the LEAD STEM’s Winter Research Symposium/Expo (9:00am – 3:00pm) held in Reynoldsburg, OH and won 3 awards (1st. Overall and 3rd. Place award in the Winter Research Project plus 2nd. Place award in the Engineering Design Project category).
Also, our Debora won the overall Talent Competition award!
Congratulations to our students!
